Yorkshire have not disciplined any of its staff over an article in today’s Guardian claiming they had pulled a planned gig in Afghanistan “on the behest of a frightened female university student.” The report stated that the county had conducted “unconventional human rights training, giving staff the option of halting events across their work and addressing sensitivities at their own discretion”. However, the Rugby Football League has denied this, saying in a statement released this afternoon: “The actions taken with respect to the Rugby Football League’s activities overseas are consistent with the recommendations of the RFL’s ongoing human rights and diversity audit.”
